The off season has been busy. Put very productive. The tentative schedule is done and at this time 17 events are scheduled at 3 great tracks! IMCA and Racesaver have signed a partnership agreement starting with the 2015 season. This means racers in the Western Racesaver Sprint Car Series can race for State, Regional and National Points! IMCA is one of the largest and most represented sanction bodies in America and already has several divisions in California. Series Officials are hard at work building the schedule which will include events at three major tracks. Bakersfield Speedway, Kings Speedway and Thunderbowl Raceway have all secured dates for the upcoming season. Track promoters are at the annual RPM Promoters workshop this week finalizing plans for 2015 , so an official announcement should be released in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Moving forward for RaceSaver Sprint Cars, the future is bright. After a slow start things are really starting to pick up. Experienced Race Director Scott Woodhouse will lead the way as the Director of Competition for Western Racesaver with a direct relationship with IMCA and Racesaver Headquarters. Scott was instrumental in bringing Racesaver to the West Coast and looks forward to watching it grow. French Grimes started Racesaver 20 years ago with virtually the same rules package. The goal is simple, keep things affordable and consistent. Technical inspections will be key to the success. Kings Speedway and Thunderbowl Raceway are the first two tracks to take races. Well the first ever on track experience was awesome! The cars all looked and sounded great. But the best part is they performed above our expectations. A few minor adjustments and this is gonna be exciting! Long time sprint car driver Blake Robertson said “these cars are a lot of fun!”, “I got a little winded out there.” Drivers Chris Ennis, David Nolte, Blaine Fagundes and Blake Roberston put on a great exhibition for the fans. Special thanks to Sponsors BR Motorsports, King Racing Products, Kasiner Farms for supporting this great series!
Our new site will be adding information including rules, series info and contacts for technical assistance and cars. This class is growing fast and will bring exciting wing sprint car action to the fans while keeping cost down to teams which will keep teams racing and new teams growing. Hanford’s Blaine Fagundes has his #11 Ready for action. These are the same sprint cars you have come to love! STAY TUNED!
